Skincare Myths: DEBUNKED

Skincare Myths: DEBUNKED

We see and hear SO many “facts” about our skin and our skincare routine, but what’s true and what’s the most valuable on YOUR skincare journey? Check some of these out!

Myth: You need to wash your face several times a day to keep it clean.

Fact: Over-washing your face can actually strip your skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness and irritation. It's better to wash your face twice a day, in the morning and before bed, using a gentle cleanser.

Myth: You don't need to wear sunscreen on cloudy days.

Fact: Even on cloudy days, harmful UV rays can still penetrate the skin and cause damage. It's important to wear sunscreen with at least SPF 30 every day, regardless of the weather.

Myth: You should always use hot water to wash your face.

Fact: Hot water can be too harsh on your skin and strip it of its natural oils. It's best to use lukewarm water when washing your face to avoid irritation.

Myth: If you have oily skin, you should avoid moisturizers.

Fact: Moisturizers are important for all skin types, including oily skin. Look for lightweight, oil-free moisturizers that won't clog your pores.

Myth: Exfoliating every day is good for your skin.

Fact: Over-exfoliating can damage your skin and lead to irritation and sensitivity. It's best to exfoliate no more than once or twice a week, depending on your skin type.

Myth: You don't need to worry about skincare until you start to see signs of aging.

Fact: Good skincare habits should start early to help prevent premature aging and maintain healthy skin. It's important to cleanse, moisturize, and protect your skin every day, regardless of your age.
